Our History
How I started in the taxi industry in 1992.
Born in Pagham and moved to London in 1989 when I was 23. Completed the knowledge of London exam after nearly 3yrs. Gaining the Green badge qualification.
18 yrs living in Pimlico being a proud London taxi driver (black cab) before moving back to my home town Bognor Regis. Then still commuting to London every day. That’s where London taxi tourist was thought of, my wife coming up with the name. I was offering great prices between London & the coast. Then the pandemic hit & after 10 yrs of commuting it all came to a stop.
For the first time in my life I was out work. Not giving up I decided to do the Arun district Hackney badge test. A small test in comparison to the London knowledge but an in depth knowledge of the whole of the Arun district area was needed, being a local lad some areas came easier than others. About 2months I passed the test. A multi choice exam having to link roads & knowing venues all over the Arun district. And another driving test. And an exam on health. Human trafficking slavery drug dealers alcohol levels heart attack diabetes Highway Code & more.
Sounds easy right ?
Work has picked up now in London but I don’t miss the commute after many years. But maybe I do miss the buzz each day & the tours I done for many years for all nationalities. I finally sold the London taxi. And have now relaunched London taxi tourist- Bognor Regis .I kept the name & added my home town.
Mainly because pre pandemic I had built up a lot of followers on Facebook. It’s building again now. And I’m happy to be working from & based in my home town still connecting coast to capital still offering London sightseeing tours & coverage all along the south coast.
But from our local area. I offer great prices to all the Airports & Docks.
